So much accomplished, but so much more to be done
Living Word Ministries was established in 1991. We, Patrick and Barb Lataillade, started the mission work in Port au Prince, the capital of Haiti. After several years, we moved the work to the village of Mayette, which is 125 miles south of Port au Prince. After working for 21 years in Mayette, the village is changing. Mayette has a church and a clinic, and Kingdom Kids, a program that has brought hope to the children.
There is so much more to be accomplished.
Because of this, LIving Word has so many needs in Mayette and surrounding villages. Medical care is so spotty and sporadic and in some cases, non-existent, Families suffer when fathers leave the family behind, and go look for work in other areas, but never return. When parents die, the burden usually falls to the grandmother to care for the children. These children then are orphans or abandoned.
Also, we have many doctors who are willing to serve the area, but our clinic cannot meet the demand and needs to be remodeled and updated with more modern equipment, including surgical supplies, and medication to help improve the village's healthcare. Until we can do that, our village goes without needed healthcare.
Your donation of $25 per month may provide things like school books for one child for a year.
Your donation of $60 per month may provide an orphan/abandoned with school needs, clothes, shoes, and food.
Your donation of $100 per month my provide medicine in the clinic and help pay the nurse and doctor's fee. Most people are unable to pay for a clinic visit
Your donation of $200 may provide one month of fuel for transport to and from Port Au Prince, a five-hour drive.
Your donation of $500 provides one month of fuel for the village generator to provide lights, charges batteries, and provides power for laundry.
We will direct your donations to the greatest need of the village.
We do not get grants or government funding and therefore the only way we can make a difference and save lives in this village is through donations from people just like you.
Can Mayette count on you to help them update and expand their clinic and help orphans and moms during their greatest need?
